‘Once Upon a Time’ enlists Victoria Smurfit to play Cruella de Vil

Once Upon a Time adds another actress to the bill for the second story arc of season 4. Victoria Smurfit will play the villainous Cruella de Vil!

Victoria Smurfit (Dracula) will be joining the cast of Once Upon a Time season 4 when we bid farewell to our Frozen friends later this winter. Smurfit’s role was initially released as an “iconic character.”

But the actress could not contain her excitement any longer and tweeted about her role as the legendary puppy snatcher:

Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have stated that out of the many characters left for the series to tackle, Cruella de Vil is near the top of their list of people to bring to life. Now they will have their chance!

Fans will not need to wait until the spring premiere to discover the set up for Once Upon a Time‘s second arc. The seeds for the Smurfit’s role will begin to appear as the Frozen storyline begins to thaw and she will be a recurring character. She joins Kristin Bauer van Straten, who will reprise her role as Maleficient during the second half of the season.

For now, however, the latest information about the Snow Queen’s intentions with Emma and the town of Storybrooke remain the prime focus. Last week we learned that Ingrid is her name and she is trying to rebuild the family she lost with Emma and Anna taking the place of the sisters she lost many years ago. There are plenty of questions still left to be answered about Ingrid and it may come down to Rumpel using his leverage over the her to get them out in the open.
