Nickelodeon has cut ties with Dan Schneider (pictured above right), the creator of many of the network’s hit shows.
Many of us grew up with ’90s Nickelodeon, and this week one of the minds behind several of our favorites is leaving the network.
“Following many conversations together about next directions and future opportunities, Nickelodeon and our long-time creative partner Dan Schneider/Schneider’s Bakery have agreed to not extend the current deal,” a Nickelodeon spokesperson told Variety in a statement.
“Since several Schneider’s Bakery projects are wrapping up, both sides agreed that this is a natural time for Nickelodeon and Schneider’s Bakery to pursue other opportunities and projects,” they added.
Schneider’s involvement with Nick can’t be understated — he’s responsible for hits including Drake & Josh, Victorious, Kenan & Kel, All That, Zoey 101, and The Amanda Show.
After 63 episodes and three seasons, Schneider’s Game Shakers was recently canceled, but Henry Danger will continue its fifth season.
Schneider’s career with the network began in 1993 with the sketch-comedy series All That.
Deadline was first to report the news.
