A new, full-length trailer for Ocean’s 8 is here, and honestly planning and executing a massive jewelry heist has never looked like so much fun.
It’s been over a decade Ocean’s 13 hit theaters, but fans still have a lot of love for the franchise. So when the all-female sequel Ocean’s 8 was announced, fans were curious how a heist following Danny Ocean’s sister, Debbie (Sandra Bullock), would play into the larger “Ocean’s universe.”
Would it feel like an Ocean’s movie if we were following a brand new group of master thieves? Would the new movie be able to capture the spirit of fun and silliness alongside planning an absolutely brilliant heist?
After watching the latest full-length trailer for the movie, it seems like Ocean’s 8 is definitely going to be a fun, twist-and-turn-filled romp into the world of high-stakes theft that Ocean’s fans have come to love. Even better, this new team of criminal masterminds have their sights set high: robbing the Met Gala to snag a $150 million dollar necklace.
We’re still not totally sure about Anne Hathaway’s character. While all of the trailers have painted her to be the unwitting victim of the theft, there have been plenty of images showing her to be a part of Debbie Ocean’s team. So is she in on the job, or is she just a blissfully unaware participant? Knowing Ocean’s movies, there’s probably going to be a big story twist at the end, and we’re betting it has something to do with Hathaway’s character.
Not only does this seem like it will be a fun new story, but the cast also appears to have a huge amount of chemistry together, which is a huge part of what makes an Ocean’s movie great. The trailer boasts the dry wit and star-studded fun that we’ve come to love from an Ocean’s movie with talented actors like Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Helene Bonham-Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Anne Hathaway rounding out the cast.
This movie is going to be a blast, and we can’t wait to see what surprised await us in Ocean’s 8! The movie drops into theaters on June 8.
