Following a month-long delay, Apple today released the latest iteration of iTunes which includes an all-new interface.

The new iTunes 11 includes a redesigned way of browsing through your music. Upon successful installation, Apple gives you a brief tour of the new areas in the software. At the top left is a drop down menu where you can see your music, movies, and podcast collections. While browsing your music library, at the top center are the various ways to browse your music: Songs, Albums, Artists, and other options are available there. At the top right is easy access to the iTunes Store.

The software includes tighter integration with Apple’s free iCloud service. Whether or not you have your entire iTunes-purchased music already in your library, you’re able to see everything ever purchased. If you want to listen to a song you purchased but haven’t yet downloaded, simply double click the song and it’ll stream immediately.

One of the best new features is Up Next. Click the list icon at the top of the player to see a list of upcoming songs. You can drag songs around – without reordering your library or existing playlists – to queue up your favorite tunes. See a photo below:

As mentioned above, the entire interface has been redesigned. Album view offers nice drop-downs of each album you’ve purchased as well as the ability to buy new songs you don’t have yet within the album:

To download iTunes 11 for free, visit the Mac App Store on your Mac and click the Updates tab. From there you should see iTunes 11 waiting to be downloaded. Download links are also available on Apple’s site.
