Netflix is getting into the music competition game with Rhythm + Flow!
In a press release sent out this week, the online streaming giant announced a new music competition series called Rhythm + Flow that will be dedicated to finding the next breakout hip-hop star.
Netflix has tapped some pretty notable rappers to serve as judges on the new show.
Sitting in the judges chairs will be Cardi B, Chance The Rapper, and T.I.
They’ll be joining forces with additional artists and industry VIPs (set to be announced in the coming weeks) to crown the winner once the series gets underway.
Comprised of 10 one-hour long episodes, Rhythm + Flow is set to premiere on Netflix in the fall of 2019.
Also set to kick off in the fall is the audition process for the series, which will take place in Cardi, Chance and T.I.’s respective hometowns of New York City, Chicago, and Atlanta.
The three main judges won’t be the only ones weighing on on who the best unsigned artists from each audition city are.
They’ll have a bit of help in the form of guest judges comprised of established rappers from each of the aforementioned cities.
As part of their guest judging stints, the artists will be able to weigh on who they think should compete from their respective hometowns.
Though the live auditions are still a few months away, Chance made it clear on his Instagram that they’re already looking for unearthed talent.
“Myself, T.I. and Cardi B are Looking for Hip Hop Artists who are: unsigned, dedicated, ready,” wrote the rapper on his socials. “Visit RhythmAndFlowAuditions.com to begin the journey.”
