Casting for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 is continuing to pick up steam!
Update (5/5/21): Deadline reports that actor Jason Ralph has officially joined the cast of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4.
Ralph, who previously starred as Quentin Coldwater in the Syfy adaptation of The Magicians, is set to be featured as part of a multi-episode arc on the series’ highly anticipated fourth season.
News of his casting comes hot on the heels of a slew of casting news for Mrs. Maisel season 4.
In fact, it was announced just last week that actors Reid Scott (Venom: Let There Be Carnage) and Gideon Glick (Marriage Story) have also signed on to appear in the critically acclaimed comedy series’ next season.
Like Ralph, both Scott and Glick are set for recurring roles, although it’s still unclear how any of the newcomers will fit into the fold of things.
For the time being, Amazon is choosing to keep specific details with regards to their characters under wraps.
The last we saw of Midge (Rachel Brosnahan), she and Susie (Alex Borstein) had been thrown for a loop when they pulled up at the airport with the intentions of joining Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain) on yet another leg of his tour. The dynamic duo arrived only to find that they’d been cut from the lineup following Midge’s unscripted act at New York City’s famed Apollo Theater.
Amazon has yet to announce when we can expect to see The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 premiere, but production on the series’ fourth season is currently happening right now out in New York City.
Original Story (3/25/21): The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 is gearing up to welcome John Waters.
On Thursday (March 25), Amazon announced that director, actor, and author John Waters has officially signed on to appear in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4.
Waters will serve as a guest star on the critically acclaimed dramedy’s highly anticipated fourth season.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Maisel fans itching to know how John Waters will fit into the fold of the next chapter of Midge’s (Rachel Brosnahan) story will have to sit tight. Today’s casting news doesn’t come equipped with further details with regards to who Waters will be playing on the show.

The actor, director, and author’s previous credits include roles in Law & Order: SVU, The Blacklist, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.
While he’s no stranger to the screen, Waters is likely best known for serving as director on a number of high profile titles. Previously, he has helmed films such as Hairspray, Cry-Baby, and Pink Flamingos.
We’re sure fans of both John Waters and Mrs. Maisel will be excited to see where he pops up in the award winning season when new episodes drop via Amazon.
Waters joins series stars Rachel Brosnahan, Tony Shaloub, Alex Borstein, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak, and Caroline Aaron, all of whom are returning to reprise their roles for the show’s fourth season.
Created by Gilmore Girls vets Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, there’s still no word on when we can expect the newest season to premiere.
That being said, filming on the series is well under way. In fact, Brosnahan herself took to Instagram at the start of the year to share with fans that production had officially kicked off following a filming hiatus as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
“It looks a little different this year…but we’re back!” Wrote the Golden Globe winner in the caption of a photo of herself on set. “Working away on @maiseltv season 4.”
