According to Variety, Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League) is in talks to join the cast of J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek sequel.
The report states that Abrams wants the up-and-coming actress for an unspecified role that is reportedly new to the canon. While a deal is not in place, Variety says that Eve was chosen over several other young actresses, including Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four) and Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger).
Alice Eve has recently come a hot commodity in Hollywood, with a recent integral role on the final season of Entourage, Eve will next be seen in the upcoming John Cusack film The Raven.
Filming is set to begin in early 2012, so confirmation on this casting report should come soon. Reports state that Abrams has only one more major role to cast, which could be another villain to support Benicio del Toro’s character.
The film is scheduled for a May 17, 2013 release. What do you think of Eve joining the Star Trek sequel?
