Miranda Otto will be starring opposite Corey Hawkins in Fox’s 24 revival series 24: Legacy.
A few days ago, we met our new Jack Bauer, Corey Hawkins. The Straight Outta Compton actor will star in Fox’s 24 reboot, as new character Eric Carter.
Now, Deadline has learned that Miranda Otto of Homeland and Lord of the Rings fame has landed the female lead role in the series.
Otto will play Rebecca Ingram, wife of Senator John Donovan and the former head of CTU. When we meet her in 24: Legacy, Rebecca is “struggling with second thoughts about having left the counterterrorism agency.”

She’ll likely join forces with Hawkins’ Eric Carter, a military hero who returns to the U.S. and sets out to stop a major terror attack. He goes to the CTU for help, both in an effort to stop the attack and to save his own life.
24: Legacy comes from Homeland executive producer Howard Gordon, and is not related to 24 directly; we’re not even sure if any of the original cast will return. One thing is certain: We won’t be seeing Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer. Hopefully the new characters are compelling enough to warrant the 24 title tie-in!
The series will definitely have the look and feel of the original: The pilot is set to be directed by original 24 pilot helmer Stephen Hopkins, with a script by former 24 writers Manny Coto and Evan Katz.
The 12-episode season is set to premiere on Fox this fall.
