Director Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar will hit theaters on November 7, and today we have a new clip with Matthew McConaughey defending the importance of space travel.
Interstellar is just one week away from hitting theaters in IMAX, and while normally we’d avoid watching any new footage from the film, this new clip is an interesting look at what the world thinks of space travel in Chris Nolan’s new film. Watch McConaughey’s character defend the importance of space travel below:
It’s very interesting that Nolan has put in this unique look at what schools would be willing to do to debunk the U.S. space race, by replacing school history books with federal issued ones which state that the moon race was simply a way to force Russia into spending millions on a fake space race.
Most of the trailers and clips we’ve seen deal with McConaughey’s actual space travel, but this gives us an idea of what has happened on Earth, and why his character feels so strongly about importance of space travel.
The film has an unbelievably talented cast including McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, Ellen Burstyn, Wes Bentley, Mackenzie Foy, Bill Irwin, Topher Grace, David Oyelowo and John Lithgow. Even Matt Damon will have a small role in the film.
McConaughey spoke in February about the film and said it finished filming early.
“Here’s what I can tell you. It’s the most ambitious thing he’s ever done. And he’s done some ambitious stuff,” McConaughey told Variety about director Christopher Nolan. “There’s no fucking around on set. He’s a great problem solver. In that way, he’s very indie. Here’s a guy who could have whatever budget he wants — and we finished shooting early.”
We’re incredibly excited to finally see Interstellar in IMAX next week, and we look forward to hearing what fans have to say about director Chris Nolan’s space-epic.
