Elizabeth Mitchell of Lost, V and The Santa Clause fame is joining Eric Kripke and J.J. Abrams’ new post-apocalyptic drama Revolution as a series regular.
TV Line reports that Mitchell will play Rachel on the NBC series, which premieres in the fall. She is replacing Rescue Me‘s Andrea Roth, who portrayed the character in the original pilot.
The premise of Revolution is that all the power goes out in the world, and 15 years later, people are trying to survive in an overgrown, anarchistic society terrorised by outlaws.
Rachel is the mother of Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) and Danny (Graham Rogers), and will “appear in a series of flashbacks,” according to the report. However, considering she is a series regular, we can imagine she’ll probably show up in the present time as well!
