‘Looking for Alaska’ season 2 air date
Fans suffered for many years between the release of the Looking For Alaska novel and the premiere of the adaptation, as the rights bounced from owner to owner, and exciting news sometimes brought disappointment to Green and his fans. That all changed, however, on October 18, 2019, when all episodes were made available to stream online! In our review, we praised the first season.
Will there be a Looking for Alaska season 2? As far as we know, there will be no such thing as Looking for Alaska season 2. If you’ve finished the show, you’ll see why a sequel is virtually impossible. And anyway, Green only ever intended to write one book about Miles and Alaska’s story. Following up season 1 with a divergence from Green’s canon, which he did not write, would be entirely inappropriate!
It’s certainly possible that Hulu, like many TV organizations, has at least given thought to the idea of additional episodes to create Looking For Alaska season 2. However, they’d be stopped in their tracks as soon as they got to John Green.
This is the case of a show that thrives in being limited to an eight-part series. Adding anything afterwards would only diminish its poignancy.
