Fresh off Disney’s Cinderella, Lily James has been cast opposite Ansel Elgort in Edgar Wright’s next action movie Baby Driver.
Twenty-six-year-old Lily James has a busy couple of years ahead of her: After her rise to international fame with Downton Abbey and the live-action Cinderella, James has lead roles in both the War and Peace miniseries and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (both set to come out in 2016).
And now, she’s added another project to her lineup: Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, which centers on a young getaway driver who finds himself taking part in a doomed heist, and uses his own personal soundtrack to fuel his fire.
The Fault in Our Stars actor Ansel Elgort will play said young getaway driver; Elgort is currently working on the next installment in the Divergent series, Allegiant: Part 1, and is also set to star in the 2016 crime drama November Criminals.

Baby Driver is written and directed by Edgar Wright, the highly esteemed British director behind cult hits like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead and The World’s End.
Wright was also set to helm Marvel’s Ant-Man way back when, and although he eventually left the project, Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon has previously claimed that his (abandoned) script for the movie was the best Marvel had ever had.
James’ role in the movie is still nondescript, with Collider only referring to her as, “[the main character]’s love interest, a diner waitress.” While we obviously hope her role will be more substantial than that, it’ll still be fun to see her act opposite Elgort.
Baby Driver does not yet have a release date, but we’ll keep you posted.
