The week has arrived! It’s been a long time coming, but Legacies is almost here. Check out a few secrets we learned from the screener that will have you counting down the days!
Legacies‘ season 1 premiere is almost here, bringing with it a whole new set of characters that we get to know, theorize about, and ship to our heart’s content. We just have to make it to Thursday. Is anyone anxious for a few teasers from the episode? I think I can help you out with that.
First, let’s start with the official description for the Legacies pilot episode, “This is the Part Where You Run”:
Under the guidance of headmaster Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis), the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted — including tri-brid Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell), Alaric’s twins Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) and Josie (Kaylee Bryant), high-energy vampire MG (Quincy Fouse), newly-triggered werewolf Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) and the mysterious Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) — come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves…in spite of their worst impulses.
Sounds like a good start, right? More? Okay, here are a few secrets to tide you over:
There may not be Quidditch, but the TVD-Universe has their own magical sport
We don’t learn the specifics about the TVD-Universe version of Quidditch, named Wickery, but hopefully we’ll be learning all the rules soon. Especially since Alaric and Caroline created it. How cool is that?
Dark magic is not allowed, but that doesn’t stop Hope when she has her mind set on something
It’s good to know that Alaric is keeping a watchful eye on his students when it comes to dark magic and trying to keep the serial killers and bad apples out of the Salvatore Boarding School. Thanks to a couple of very powerful witch relatives, I’m sure Hope knows way more dark magic than she should. Hopefully she keeps herself under control and only uses dark magic when absolutely necessary.
Need help with a supernatural problem? Just call the Salvatore School Squad!
It’s funny that this episode starts with Hope and Alaric leaping out of a Salvatore School van to help a supernatural newbie. It’s almost like a better version of the Ghostbusters. They’re definitely who I’d want coming to my rescue if I needed help. The only question remaining is: How’d they know this werewolf needed their help?
Hope makes a new friend
We all met Landon Kirby in the backdoor pilot for Legacies in season 5 of The Originals. He had a brief interaction with Hope then, but it’s nice to see her solidifying his friendship, even if it’s only until they can compel him. Don’t worry, this will all make sense on Thursday!
Before the end of the premiere, we see not one, but two full werewolf transformations. They’re not pulling any punches with ‘Legacies’!
We were all sad to miss out on ever seeing Klaus’ full wolf transformation on either TVD or The Originals, but this pilot delivers not one, but two full transformations. I can’t wait to see all the other punches the show refuses to pull as the season progresses!
Easter eggs, references, and name drops, oh my!
Yes, the ever fun references. There really are quite a few. Some are a little more subtle than others, but if this is just a taste of the respect Legacies will show to the history behind them, we have a lot of great easter eggs to find in future episodes! Oh, and if you’re a TVD-Universe superfan, keep an eye on Hypable in the days to come for a fun giveaway. Details to come soon!
