Looks like Lana Del Rey fans can expect some new music from the singer before the new year— but it likely won’t be the album you’re expecting.
On Tuesday (November 4), Lana Del Rey took a break from watching Election Day coverage to give fans an update on her upcoming album, Chemtrails Over the Country Club, via Instagram.
Unfortunately, fans looking forward to getting their hands on the highly anticipated follow up to Norman F***ing Rockwell will have to sit tight.
Unfortunately, the recording artist revealed that Chemtrails over the Country Club has been delayed due to the pandemic.
Specifically, the singer revealed that there’s been a 16-week delay on the vinyl process for the album. But just because Chemtrails might take a bit longer to be released, doesn’t mean Lana Del Rey fans will go without new music from the singer this year.
“In the mean time, I’m going to give you a digital record of American standards and classics for Christmas, because I can’t get the record plants to open until March 5,” announced Del Rey.
As for Chemtrails, the singer also gave fans a bit more night as to what they can expect from the record when it finally does drop.
“I love it, it’s folky. It’s beautiful, it’s super different from Norman. I was stressed out when I found out about the production taking sixteen to seventeen weeks,” continued Del Rey. “But in the mean time, I have some Patsy Cline songs I’ve been wanting to cover for such a long time. And a couple of really cool Americana songs with Nikki Lane that I’ve just had in my back pocket. So that’s the plan.
While they wait for the newly announced digital record of American standards and classics, Lana Del Rey fans can sink their teeth into an Acapella rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The singer recorded her take on the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic for an upcoming documentary about Liverpool.
