Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph are joining forces to bring television viewers a brand new animated comedy!
According to Yahoo Entertainment, Fox has given a straight-to-series order to Bless the Harts, a brand new half hour animated comedy series.
The network has ordered 13 episodes of the new series to start.
Bless the Harts tells the story of a group of broke Southerners struggling to reach the American dream, which for them would manifest itself in the form of status and wealth. They may have dreams of financial freedom, but what the bunch doesn’t realize right off the bat is that they’re already rich when it comes to friends, family and laughter.
Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph are set to lend their voices to the new animated series. The actresses will also be billed as executive producers on the new series.
Other actors who have already been cast in the new half hour comedy include Inherent Vice actress Jillian Bell and The Mindy Project alumn Ike Barinholtz.
Behind the scenes, series creator Emily Spivey will be serving as executive producer along with Chris Miller and Phil Lord. The new series serves as a reunion for Spivey, Miller and Lord who all worked together on Fox’s The Last Man on Earth.” (Spivey worked as a writer on the series, with Lord and Miller serving as producers.)
Additionally, Spivey is no stranger to working alongside Wiig and Rudolp. The Bless the Harts creator has served as a writer both on NBC’s long standing variety series, Saturday Night Live, as well as on Rudolph’s short lived variety show, Maya & Marty.
Bless the Harts is slated to premiere as part of Fox’s 2019-2020 television lineup.
