Warner Bros. is announcing a Superman and Batman crossover film at Comic-Con today, along with the announcement of Justice League and The Flash’s release dates.
Reports are coming in that Warner Bros. plans to announce the production of a Justice League film with a 2017 release date, and a Flash film, which has a release date set for 2016. After the reports that Batman and Superman will be teaming up in the Man of Steel sequel, we’re certainly interested in what the studio has to say about their other two films.
We know that the Justice League film has hit snags over the last decade, but with the studio moving forward with the Superman/Batman film in 2015, it seems they’re taking their aim at an Avengers like assembly and plan to get their heroes out in theaters and then finally team them up in 2017.
Once the Superman/Batman film hits theaters in 2015, we imagine it will do exceptionally well depending on who the studio casts as Bruce Wayne and then we’ll be seeing The Flash in 2016. If both of these films do well, we’ll be looking at finally seeing the DC heroes teaming up for Justice League in 2017.
There’s still a lot of time between then and now, but we can’t wait for the official announcements to come from Warner Bros. when they hit the stage in the next few minutes at Comic-Con 2013. Keep checking back as we’ll update as soon as we hear from the insiders what WB has set in stone for their future.
Thanks, THR.
