Of course, Jeff Goldblum already made his initial return to the franchise, popping up in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but we’re glad he has agreed to return to the franchise again. We can only hope that the three of them have a lot of fun screen time together.
Original Story: 3/31/2019 Trevorrow directed the first movie in the Jurassic Park reboot saga, but Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which will be released on June 22, was directed by J.A. Boyana. Now, EW is reporting that Trevorrow will be returning to direct Jurassic World 3.
The news was confirmed by Steven Spielberg, who told EW that “Colin Trevorrow is going write and direct the third Jurassic World story.” In fact, Trevorrow is already in the process of writing the third movie with Emily Carmichael. Even though Trevorrow gave up the director’s chair for Fallen Kingdom, he still served as a co-writer and an executive producer, along with Spielberg.
The third installment is currently set to be released on June 11, 2021, and will be the final Jurassic World movie.
While commenting on the third installment, Trevorrow also shared some encouraging words about the upcoming Fallen Kingdom, saying “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to Fallen Kingdom, and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.”
