The second Jungle Cruise trailer shows off the sparkling chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt as they take a journey into the Amazon.
The film is Disney’s second attempt into converting one of their more popular theme park rides into a potential billion-dollar franchise, though it’s admittedly less of an obvious sell than Pirates of the Caribbean — a swashbuckling adventure with pirates — was.
However, while Jungle Cruise may not have the immediate appeal that the Pirates franchise did, it does have the obvious appeal of Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt bantering back and forth with one another and journeying down the Amazon together.
The first trailer was released in October and captured the feel of the movie, as well as the dynamic between the leads.
This second trailer gives us a better idea of the type of journey the two will have to take, and while it’s not on the high seas, it has a similar swashbuckling feel to it that made the previous Disney-theme-park-ride-turned-franchise so successful.

Jungle Cruise will follow riverboat captain, Frank, and determined explorer, Lily, as they search the depths of the Amazon jungle for a mystical, magical tree with amazing healing powers. As we see in the trailer, Frank has spent years looking for the tree without success, leading him to believe that it’s completely mythical, but Lily is adamant in her belief that she knows where it is and has the key.
However, they’ll need to find it before an unnamed villain played by Jesse Plemons gets to it first and uses it for nefarious means.
Jungle Cruise stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as Frank, the charismatic riverboat captain, and Emily Blunt as the explorer Lily Houghton on a research mission. Joining the two will be American Crime Story actor Edgar Ramirez, comedian, Good Omens star Jack Whitehall, Fargo star Jesse Plemons, and Golden Globe award-winning actor Paul Giamatti.
The film is helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra, best known for 2016’s The Shallows, 2009’s Orphan, and 2005’s House of Wax, on a script written by Glenn Ficarra, who is the executive producer for This Is Us and wrote the film Bad Santa.
Jungle Cruise sails into theaters on July 24.
