Last year we learned that Legendary Pictures is creating a reboot of Godzilla, with Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce penning the script. Today, some casting news was released!
Variety reports that Juliette Binoche, Elizabeth Olsen, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are in negotiations to star in the Godzilla reboot. As of now, we don’t know what type of characters they play, as the descriptions are still under wraps. We’ve already learned that Gareth Edwards (Monsters) is directing the reboot, and Legendary Pictures teased a poster last summer at Comic-Con.
Juliette Binoche is a French actress, who has appeared in many French and English films. She rose to prominence after her performance in Chocolat, which earned her an Academy Award nomination in 2000. Elizabeth Olsen is the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and she was most recently seen in last summer’s Indie Liberal Arts alongside How I Met Your Mother‘s Josh Radnor. She’s also starring in the upcoming film Kill Your Darlings, which also stars Dan Radcliffe. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a British actor who is best known for his role in Kick-Ass and was seen last year in Anna Karenina.
Godzilla will hit theaters in May 2014. What do you think of Binoche, Olsen, and Taylor-Johnson starring together?
