The 2018 Tony Awards have found not one, but two hosts for theater’s biggest night.
Variety reports that the 2018 Tony Awards will officially be hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles.
Though Bareilles and Groban are well known to masses for the waves they’ve made in the music industry, both artists are no stranger to the stage.
Groban starred as Pierre Bezukhov in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 — a sung through musical adaptation of an excerpt from Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace.
Bareilles is also no stranger to Broadway. In 2016 the Grammy Award nominee provided the score for Waitress, the musical adaptation of the 2007 film of the same name.
Additionally, both Groban and Bareillles scooped up nods at the Tony’s for their respective work on Broadway. Bareilles scored a nomination in the Best Original Score category for Waitress in 2016. Meanwhile, Groban scooped a nomination in the Best Actor in a Musical category for his portrayal of Pierre Bezukhov.
We’ll be excited to see how Groban and Bareilles play off each other when the co-host the 72nd annual Tony Awards later this summer!
This year’s nominees for the 2018 Tony Awards are set to be announced on May 1. The ceremony will be broadcast live via CBS from Radio City Music Hall on June 10.
