A new Jessica Jones trailer has been released, featuring David Tennant’s Kilgrave at his sinister best.
Or rather, worst.
The new Jessica Jones trailer also emphasizes Jessica’s (Krysten Ritter) hard-bitten, snarky personality — as well as the impressive physical feats which her come courtesy of her superpowers.
Unfortunately, it seems like her physical strength and resilience are what have made her such a tantalizing target for the mind-controlling Kilgrave.
“You are a hard-drinking, short-fused mess of a woman,” Luke Cage (Mike Colter) tells Jones, succinctly summing up his love interest.

After which, Jones jumps in front of a moving train to save one of Kilgrave’s potential victims, so we’d have to add “Probably insane, but hopefully in a good way?” to Cage’s description.
The previous Jessica Jones trailer also emphasized Jones’ dark side, so it’s nice to see a slightly lighter sense of Jessica’s personality expressed.
Still, all signals suggest that fans should be prepared for an intense and disturbing ride through Jessica Jones. From what we’ve seen so far, the second collaboration between Marvel and Netflix will make its first (the acclaimed Daredevil) look positively light-hearted.

“Haunted by a traumatic past, Jessica Jones uses her gifts as a private eye to find her tormentor before he can harm anyone else in Hell’s Kitchen,” Netflix says.
