‘Iron Man 3’ TV spot reveals new footage, minor plot spoilers

A new Iron Man 3 international TV spot has been released and it features Robert Downey Jr. and Gywneth Paltrow in some scenes that could be considered minor plot spoilers.

Back in July there were rumors that Gwyneth Paltrow could be “suiting up” in Iron Man 3 and it seems those rumors were true. Check out the latest TV spot which shows some new footage from Iron Man 3 and definitely includes a few minor spoilers.

Back in July we reported that director John Favreau and Marvel President Kevin Feige had discussed on multiple occasions the idea of Gwyneth Paltrow suiting up as “Rescue” in one of the Iron Man films. During Comic-Con 2012, the two explained that they were both fairly enthusiastic about getting Pepper in a suit at some point and it looks like they’ve decided to throw her in one during the scene where Tony’s cliff-side mansion is destroyed by The Mandarin, played by actor Sir Ben Kingsley.

Iron Man 3 Pepper Potts in suit

Jon Favreau had this to say at Comic-Con last year, “We almost did it a few times; we talked about it a lot. I think we all share your enthusiasm for that, and we all want to see Gwyneth kick a little ass.” Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige followed up saying, “Everyone at this table thinks it would be the coolest thing in the world to see Pepper get in the suit at some point.”

So it appears as though they may have known all along that Pepper Potts would be suiting up in Iron Man 3. What do you think about Pepper suiting up? Do you think she’ll be in a suit more than once during the film or will she simply “rescue” Tony when his house is being blown to bits.

Is Marvel giving away too much of the plot?

Let us know what you think of the new teaser and whether you believe they’re starting to cross the line of showing too much of the new film. Iron Man 3 is only a little over a month away now from its May 3 U.S. release date. It will be released in international theaters a week earlier on April 26.
