Indiana Jones 5 has found its newest cast member in Mads Mikkelsen!
According to Deadline, actor Mads Mikkelsen is the latest star to join the cast of Indiana Jones 5.
Details with regards to who Mikkelsen will play in the next installment of the hit action franchise have not yet been specified, so fans will have to sit tight while we wait on further details.
The Hannibal vet is far from the only notable name who’s already signed on to star in the film. In fact, Mikkelsen’s involvement comes hot on the heels of last week’s news that Emmy Award winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge has also joined the cast of Indiana Jones 5.
Both Mikkelsen and Waller-Bridge join Harrison Ford, who returns to star in the titular role as the famed archaeologist.
Also returning is prolific composer, John Williams, who will once again score Indy’s heroic adventure.
Behind the camera, James Mangold has been tapped to serve as the film’s director. In addition, Kathleen Kennedy, Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel will serve as producers on the project.
Still shrouded in secrecy is what the plot of the fifth film will entail. Even so, we’re sure today’s casting announcement will further fuel fans’ excitement for the fifth movie.
Indiana Jones is far from the only franchise Mads Mikkelsen is gearing up to star in. In addition, fans can look forward to catching him in the role of the villainous Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3, due out July 15, 2022.
Indiana Jones 5 is slated to hit theaters on July 29, 2022.
