The first Homeland season 3 trailer debuted online today and offers up a lot of emotional moments, plus first looks at all of your favorite characters.
The Homeland season 3 trailer premiered on Showtime’s offical YouTube channel. It kicks off with the last scene of season 2 in which Carrie and Brody say goodbye to one another, then transitions into scenes from the fortchoming episodes.
There are many notable moments in the Homeland season 3 trailer anchored by the song “To Build A Home” by The Cinematic. For starters, Carrie is a mess over the loss of her beloved Brody. Saul and her both go on trial in the investigation over the attack on the CIA.
Brody, now on the run, has shaved his head entirely. His family (Dana, Chris, and wife Jessica appear) are also struggling with his disappearance. Daughter Dana is seemingly a practicing Muslim in one shot (or hoping to become one, or is just curious about what he was doing with the mat).
There’s no doubt that the trailer seems to portray an entirely different side of Homeland, which is nothing short of what we expected after comments made by Howard Gordon back in January saying that the series would be “reset”.
This has lead to numerous new guest starring characters coming to the third season, and with less of a focus on Nicholas Brody, we’re definitely going to see a new beginning of Homeland.
We’ll pick up the season with Carrie and Saul’s personal and professional lives in disarray and we can also assume that this will be the main plot throughout the season. As for Brody though, we still expect and assume he’ll play a major role despite his disappearance.
What stands out to you in the trailer? There are a surprising number of scenes and there is much to discover.
Homeland season 3 premieres this September 29 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on Showtime. Hypable will offer full coverage throughout the season.
