Sick of reading through paragraphs of play-by-plays to find out what happened on the last episode of Heroes: Reborn? Check out our quick and easy bare essentials recap of season 1, episode 3, “Under the Mask,” to get caught up on what’s really important.
It might just be the second week that Heroes: Reborn has been on our TV screens but it’s already the third episode thanks to last weeks’ two-parter. And despite only being three episodes in the drama is just as complicated as it was in the middle of season 1 for Heroes!
In an effort to save your sanity (and ours) we’ve constructed this bulleted list of tonight’s most key moments, and why you should remember them.
- Epic. You’re going to want to remember that word. Erica, a head woman of Renautas, Primatech’s parent company, has unveiled the tech that they need Molly Walker for. Dubbed “Epic,” it uses Molly’s powers to power a program that will find every Evo on the planet, already being used by the world’s top military agents. Given that Molly has to physically be connected to their servers for this to work we don’t see this harboring a successful 10-year plan.
- A promise kept. You know the weird guy with glasses that’s been following Tommy everywhere, sending him warning texts and manipulating people around him? Apparently he and Tommy’s mother have had a past. When confronted by Tommy’s mother outside of a party that she didn’t want Tommy to go to the man in question said they were keeping their promise to keep Tommy safe. What group is this man a part of, and how does Tommy’s mom fit into this?!These questions will have to wait since the episode ended with Tommy and his mother getting into a pretty terrible car crash.
- Dirty cops. Carlos was investigating all the work his brother was doing and discovered there’s a string of dirty cops trying to get their own hands on Evos. He intercepts one of the dirty cops’ attacks on a group of Evos but unfortunately for Carlos he runs into one of these cops and discovers that he’s also an Evo. An evo attacking other Evos?! Yep! And of course who’s fighting him? A non-Evo. So basically Carlos gets his ass kicked.
- Light it up, Luke! As Luke and his wife Joanne continue to argue about the morals of hunting down innocent Evos, Luke makes his own discovery: He himself is an Evo. His power? We’re not sure yet, but it involves the sun and apparently turning really hot — so much so he turned into this huge blast of white light at the end of his scene and we still don’t know what happened to him.
- Double trouble. Turns out the lobby Miko teleported into was the Renautas lobby on the night of the Epic announcement, and Miko was not able to handle the head of security there. Harris, the head, takes her down and confiscates her sword but in the end Ren is able to help save Miko from these horrible Evo hunters. In the process she cuts off Harris’ hand but it just grows back. And the severed limb? That grows a human of his own, Doctor Who style. So whatever you do, don’t cut Harris. He’ll just replicate.
- June 13. This day continue to be a mystery as Noah Bennet goes to uncover what really happened a year ago. He does find out that he went to the hospital and visited what appears to be Claire’s dead body in the morgue, but he’s not convinced it’s actually her. Records never said anything about Claire dying! And to make things worse, when Noah runs into Molly in order to save her from being used for Epic, she would rather run away than have his help. What did he do so long ago?! We need to find out.
The mysteries keep growing with Heroes: Reborn, and we can’t wait to see what next week has in store!
