Sleepy Hollow alumn Tom Mison is gearing up to return to television.
According to Variety, British actor Tom Mison is the latest actor to join the cast of HBO’s Watchmen.
The upcoming adaptation is based off of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s DC Comics’ Watchmen, which was first published in 1986. The series takes place in an alternate 1985 America and follows a masked vigilante named Rorschach, who stumbles upon a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes after one of his old buddies is murdered.
Keeping with the ongoing trend of secrecy, HBO has yet to announce who the Sleepy Hollow alumn will be playing in the upcoming adaptation helmed by Damon Lindelof.
Mison isn’t the only new cast member joining The Leftovers creator’s next HBO endeavor.
Other newly announced cast members include Frances Fisher (Titanic) and Jacob Ming-Trent (Superfly).
It’s been a busy week on the casting front for HBO’s Watchmen.
In fact, just yesterday we learned that Jeremy Irons had also joined the cast of the upcoming adaptation.
Irons is reportedly set to play “an aging and imperious lord of a British manor,” which is incredibly interesting — especially given that, as fans have pointed out, the description of his character doesn’t match any characters featured in the comics.
Other actors who’ve previously boarded HBO’s Watchmen include Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens, and Andrew Howard.
While HBO has ordered a pilot of the comic book adaptation, they have yet to green light the show for a full season. As such, there’s currently no word on when we can expect the series to make its grand debut via the premium cable network.
