Lena Dunham, the creator, writer and director of the hit HBO series Girls has tweeted a photo with another HBO star that some may be surprised to find on the set of season 2!

Today, Dunham tweeted a picture of her with none other than Chris Noth, who played Mr. Big in the iconic HBO series Sex and the City. Check out the tweet and photo below:

We’ve got a source near the filming of the episode who had these details to add to the image:

“They are filming all day at Washington Square Park and the surrounding area. Shoshana, Marnie and Ray were filming a scene together this morning and the majority of the cast appeared to be on set throughout the day.”

Girls has often been compared to Sex and the City based solely on the fact that it is based on four girls in New York City. True fans of both shows will know that neither show is much like the other.

What are your thoughts on Chris Noth’s possible Girls appearance?

UPDATE: Our sources reported that, shortly after posing for the photo and chatting with Dunham, Noth left the set without filming any scenes. Looks like Mr. Big won’t be appearing on Girls after all. (Although we can still hope for a cameo in the future!)
