Pottermore recently studied the Harry Potter books to figure out a number of interesting facts about wand usage in J.K. Rowling’s series.
Which spell was used the most? In which book did wands fail most? How many spells did each of the characters conjure? These are all fascinating questions that we never had answers to before, but believe it or not, J.K. Rowling recently paid someone at Pottermore to actually figure it all out. Coolest job ever!
Rather than reposting all of the information Pottermore found here, we thought it’d be fun to turn it into a quiz to see how well you can guess the answers!
What to know before taking this quiz: These statistics were pulled only from the Harry Potter books, not the movies. In addition, Pottermore “only included magical uses, where it was explicitly clear that a wand was used by an identifiable person or group of people. [They] did not include wand useage in dreams, daydreams, visions, flashbacks or hallucinations or reported incidents of wand usage. When two named characters performed the same spell at the same time [they] counted it as two separate incidents. Spells performed without a wand are not counted.”
So with all that in mind, it’s time to test your memory!
How well did you do on this quiz?
Thanks to Pottermore for these interesting statistics. (Don’t click that link until after you’ve taken the quiz!)
