Grimm season 3, episode 1 “The Ungrateful Dead” just finished airing on NBC! Now you can read our recap and discuss the story line with fellow fans.
Here are the highlights from Grimm season 3, episode 1 “The Ungrateful Dead”:
- The episode kicks off by reminding us what happened in the Grimm season 2 finale. Rosalee, Juliette, and Monroe barely manage to escape the zombie hoard by getting away in their car, while Nick isn’t so lucky and Baron Samedi turns him into a zombie before turning him over to Eric.
- Eric plans on sending Nick overseas in a coffin, posing as a dead man. Sean watches as the royal family’s henchman pack up Nick and take him away. But Before he can do anything, he’s attacked by a couple of zombies!
- Rosalee, Juliette, and Monroe’s car gets stuck, so they have to climb onto machinery to get away from the zombies. But it doesn’t look like that will keep them safe for long!
- Back at the station – Wu and Hank talk about the craziness going on. Wu thinks everything is calm but Hank gets a call from Juliette explaining their dire situation.
- The Portland police show up just in time to help Rosalee, Juliette, and Monroe before they fall victim to the mass amount of zombies.
- Captain Renard picks up Rosalee, Juliette, Monroe, and Hank so they can try and stop Eric before he ships Nick to another country. Rosalee tells the group that she thinks Nick will react differently than the other zombies because he’s a Grimm.
- The creepy Stefania takes out Frau Pech’s heart and seals it with wax in some container. No doubt it will be used in some creepy spell later on.
- Captain Renard and the gang show up just in time to watch the plane with Nick on it taking off.
- The Baron sips away on a drink while enjoying his flight. Until he hears a lot of banging coming out of Nick’s coffin. When he goes over to investigate, Nick busts out and he’s angry. The Baron and flight crew both suffer the consequences and the plane crashes.
- Stefania tells Adalind that she has to cut up Frau Pech’s body as part of the spell to get her powers back. Very weird and creepy. Next they take her to a field of flowers where the container flies in the air and finds a spot where Adalind has to dig.
- As Rosalee tries to whip up as much of the antidote as she can, Monroe tries to talk them into going to Austria to find Nick. Rosalee has a brainwave and finds a new way to deliver the antidote to the group of zombies: just turn the antidote into an inhalant.
- Hank informs the Captain that the plane carrying Nick can’t be reached. The Captain assures Hank that he’ll deal with it once the plain lands in Vienna. Too bad they don’t know it’ll never get there! Nick is roaming around in the woods somewhere.
- Rosalee, Juliette, and Monroe head back to the ship yard and try out the new form of antidote. And it works!
- Hank informs the Captain that Nick’s plane crashed and they think they know where. Meanwhile, Nick wanders around until he finds some more people to attack.
- Monroe gets a call from Hank that Nick’s plane crashed and they’re heading out to look at it. Juliette wants to meet them there. When they arrive, the pilots are still alive but the Baron is dead (yay!). Hank and the Captain are convinced Nick must still be alive.
- When Rosalee, Juliette, and Monroe arrive at the plane crash, Hank gets a call that someone went crazy at a local bar. They immediately head out and arrive as the bartender rushes out and tells them to kill the crazy person. Monroe sniffs out Nick, who has apparently already left the bar.
- Adalind finishes her hole and Stefania instructs her to bury the heart and body parts with her hands. “Oh, that’s creepy,” Adalind says as she watches the flowers around her die. Then a weird pair of green hands enters her body. Her next step is to collect the dead flowers. How many steps are there to this thing?
- Nick wanders in the forest until he comes upon a house and the episode finishes there! What a tease…
