A recent red-carpet video features interviews with Kit Harrington, Sophie Turner, and other members of the cast of Game of Thrones season 3 preview the twists and turns of the new season.
A new video from Wired.com features the cast of Game of Thrones season 3 discussing the challenges of filming the new season, how the show has changed from year to year, and what changes may loom ahead to shock viewers and book readers alike. Check out the video right here:
It certainly looks like season 3 will be “high impact”, as Kit Harington (Jon Snow) calls it. “There is going to be more danger,” Rose Leslie agrees, “And I think that that is the secret to its success and its continuing appeal.” Leslie promises that the season will reveal a “tender side” of her character Ygritte, a change in pace for the tough-as-nails wildling warrior.
Other characters will be changing as well. Maisie Williams says that Game of Thrones season 3 will show viewers “A new Arya,” and Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell, the new darling of King’s Landing) promises that “The fortune of characters really rises and falls, in an epic way.”
Meanwhile, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) suggests that the characters won’t be the only ones changing. Turner notes the general faithfulness of Game of Thrones to its source material, George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. “Everything is pretty much the same, with one or two differences,” she says. “And in season 3, there are… bigger differences.” Even those who have read the novels may not know just what is coming, as Turner says, “The book readers will be super shocked.”
