There’s nothing better than a good ol’ party in the USA on Independence Day. Here are five Fourth of July songs all about American pride and sunshine by today’s pop female artists.
1. ‘Party in the USA’ – Miley Cyrus
No list of songs surrounding American themes would be complete without Miley’s 2009 runaway hit “Party in the USA.” This was one of the first tunes that took the former Hannah Montana starlet to the heights of the top 40 pop list.
Like Miley sings in the song, nothing says summer like your favorite tune blaring over the radio.
2. ‘Made in the USA’ – Demi Lovato
Demi is a ball of energy ready to pop out a new top 40 hit at the blink of an eye, all while tending to her X Factor judging duties.
“Made in the USA” features a catchy chorus prime to be shouted out at the top of your lungs while sitting in Independence Day traffic. We can’t resist this song’s incredible ability to pump us up and prepare us for anything a hot summer day can throw at us.
3. ‘Made in America’ – Cimorelli
This all-American group of sisters is still shimmering from their sparkly clean a capella YouTube covers channel. Cimorelli is always bright, energetic, and overall, a lot of fun.
It’s no wonder that “Made in America” has not only amazing harmonies, but also a great driving dance beat. We can’t be the only ones who hear a little S Club 7 in their latest tune, right?
4. ‘All-American Girl’ – Carrie Underwood
Winner of the fourth season of American Idol, Carrie Underwood has had arguably one of the most successful careers out of all of the show’s first place contestants.
“All-American Girl” is the second single off her second album Carnival Ride. The song speaks of a father who looks on in amazement as his “beautiful, wonderful, perfect all-American girl” grows up in front of his eyes. This song is not only inspirational, but is also one of Underwood’s most karaoke-able songs.
Keep in mind that you may not sound as sensational as Underwood after one too many poolside martinis.
5. ‘American Girl’ – Bonnie McKee
Stars the likes of Macklemore and Katy Perry make appearances in Bonnie McKee’s single “American Girl” off her upcoming second studio album.
With an Avril Lavigne/Haley from Paramore punk-pop look, McKee’s “American Girl” sets the newbie apart from those who might compare her to the former. Give “American Girl” a listen on the beach to properly enjoy this feel-good Fourth of July hit.
