Hot on the heels of Chronicle director Josh Trank being appointed to helm an upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, Fox has assigned the project a screenwriter!
According to THR, Jeremy Slater will be penning the first entry in what Fox will be hoping is a fresh new series. Aside from writing a spec script called Tape 4 which is currently in the works at Lionsgate, and My Spy for Universial, Slater is a complete newcomer. He may strike some as an unusual choice, given that none of his screenplys have faced critics or audiences at the time of appointment.
With Fox announcing a director and writer within a day of eachother, we expect to start hearing casting news in the reasonably near future.
Do you think the “fresh blood” approach to relaunching Fantastic Four will pay off, or should Fox be sticking to people with experience?
