Pottermore has announced another round of castings for the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Time to get theorizing y’all! Nicholas Flamel will be appearing in Fantastic Beasts 2 — he’ll be played by Brontis Jodorowsky (pictured above left). And as if that wasn’t enough to digest, Pottermore has announced a slew of other roles. Two of the actors will play characters tied to Death Eater families:
Joining the cast will be Wolf Roth as a character called Spielman; Call the Midwife star Victoria Yeates as Bunty; Derek Riddell as Torquil Travers; Poppy Corby-Tuech as Rosier; and Cornell S John as Arnold Guzman. The names ‘Travers’ and ‘Rosier’ stand out in particular; these last names turn up in the Harry Potter series and belong to two Death Eaters who served Lord Voldemort.
And finally, how’s this for a surprise: Former Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams, who recently released a movie on Netflix called The Incredible Jessica James, is joining FB 2. Fiona Glascott is also joining, but we don’t know anything about the roles for these two women.
Jessica’s casting is particularly interesting — she and J.K. Rowling developed a friendship over the past year after initially bonding over The Sims video game. Jessica is a huge Harry Potter fan and shares a birthday with J.K. Rowling’s and the Boy Wizard. You can hear Jessica tell the story of their friendship on a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert:
