Ahead of the Hogwarts Express heading back to school (September 1!), Warner Brothers has released an exciting look at the Hogwarts scenes in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Hogwarts will be appearing for about 10 – 15 minutes in the Fantastic Beasts sequel primarily via flashback scenes. In these, we’ll see a young Newt being taught by young Dumbledore in Defense Against the Dark Arts. As one trailer previously showed us, Newt’s boggart is an office desk.
This new footage released by WB shows filming at the same location they used for three of the original Harry Potter movies. We get looks at Hogwarts robes in the early 1900s and we get to see kids doing a lot of running. WHY ARE THEY RUNNING?! *anxiety*
Rowling also makes a couple of appearances in this. “I loved going back to Hogwarts,” she says. “Of course I did.”
Crimes of Grindelwald hits theaters this November.
Editor’s note: Johnny Depp, who co-stars in this film, has been repeatedly accused of violence. He allegedly beat his ex-wife Amber Heard (read the accusations by Heard and Depp’s former associates). J.K. Rowling responded to the controversy. In July 2018, Depp was accused of punching a crew member on the set of a film in April 2017. Why are we telling you this?
