This week’s Fandom Fix involves a sleek Black Widow bracelet and a pair of Game of Thrones heels bound to knock your socks off.
Fandom Fix is a weekly feature article written by Donya Abramo and Karen Rought. With every installment, the duo picks out a fandom-related item they’ve recently come across and describes it in loving detail. There are no product placements here. We only talk about items we’re excited to share with the rest of the world.
You can get your Fandom Fix in a variety of ways, be it jewelry, clothing, games, or something else entirely. We strive to remain unbiased, and we plan on constantly expanding our own horizons as we search for new and interesting pieces. The only requirement is that it must give us the burning need to open our wallets and throw money at its creator.
I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting merchandise for all of my favorite Avengers — especially something I can match to any occasion, fandom-related or not. So, when these gorgeous byzantine bracelets by Black Appaloosa Jewelry came to my attention, I was instantly tempted to buy them all on the spot.
Most of the characters from Avengers: Age of Ultron are covered, including the criminally under-represented Black Widow.
If you’re among civilians, they’ll admire the gorgeous colors and craftsmanship that goes into each individual bracelet. But for the eagle-eyed in fandom, they’ll know exactly who you’re wearing — and you can even mix it up with two or more bracelets and represent your favorite ship.
Liz Bundick, the owner of Black Appaloosa Jewelry, has something really special with these bracelets — I’ve certainly never seen anything quite like them before — and I can’t wait for my next payday so I can collect my next bracelet. What do you mean this isn’t like Pokémon?
Look, I promise I won’t pick a super expensive item every week, but I saw this and just knew I had to make it my first Fandom Fix topic. I mean, look at them. Look at them!
This is a pair of beautiful, handmade, dangerously sexy looking Game of Thrones heels by the absurdly talented Nixxi Rose. Whether you’re cosplaying or you just want a conversation piece, these shoes would make a killer statement — pun totally intended.
The artist has a video describing how she made these shoes, which gives some awesome insight into the process. They’re easy to make, believe it or not, but you need a lot of patience and a good chunk of time. If you can afford them, they’re well worth the investment. I did say conversation piece, right?
