Empire season 2, episode 1 was full of humor, drama, and great one liners from Cookie. Here are the most gif-able moments from the premiere.
Where didn’t Empire season 2 go last night? From picking on CNN reporters, addressing real issues with 50 Cent, and dishing out some of Cookie’s best one liners, Empire proved that they are bringing everything they have to season 2. Even if that means a little bit of cannibalism.

Here are last night’s most gif-able moments.
Making an entrance
Source
Cookie sure knows how to walk into a room and own it. It’s no surprise that she also knows what it takes to captivate a massive crowd and make them pay attention at the Free Lucious rally.
Beef with 50 Cent
Source
50 Cent has been known to throw some hate Empire‘s way, especially on Instagram. But the series took it in stride choosing to have Cookie address their issues head on calling him a “thirsty ass” on screen.
Jamal is a man in charge
Source
Jamal may not be getting exactly what he wants on the job, but he seems to have things under control at home with Michael. Get these two a room and find us a fan.
‘All the world’s a stage’
Source
Why not walk down the hall like you just stepped out onto the runway? It’s easy to take the halls by storm when you think you are about to take over a multi-million dollar business.
We thought ‘Hannibal’ was cancelled?
Source
Just when you finally stopped crying over the cancellation of Hannibal, Empire brings a bit of blood splatter back to primetime as Frank Gathers (Chris Rock) eats a piece of Cookie’s cousin. The more graphic nature of the scene was cut, but the message is subtly there if you are looking for it.
How much is too much gold?
Source
“Why do you look like Mr. T?” Lucious asks Cookie when she walks in to visit him, a gesture he never showed to her while she was locked up. Of course Cookie took a stroll along his cell block to request some protection. Even so, it was great to see these two go at it again!
Boss Becky
Source
“You’re rude, he’s crude, and both of y’all are socially unacceptable.” Becky is back and she is not taking any sass from the Lyon boys or Cookie this season. The Lyons may have found a tamer.
Lucious is still the big bad and we love him for it
Source
Lucious is not able to figure out why he loves and hates Cookie at the same time and we have the same problem with him. He cheats, lies, murders, and manipulates, but at the end of the day he has Cookie’s back. His loyalty and love runs deep and he proves it. How could you not help but feel good when he sided with her last night?
Honorable mention goes to…
Source
She may not be able to do it right, but Anika put herself out there this week. Sweater and all.
