While appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America Wednesday, singer Ellie Goulding announced that she will be the “musical voice” of Tris in Divergent.

“I have always wanted to do a film soundtrack, be really involved with a film,” she said on the morning talk show. “And not just provide songs, but also install my voice in the soundtrack as well. I’ve gotten to work with an orchestra and the musical director, and it’s been so much fun. I’m really excited.”

“I’ve seen [the film] and it’s awesome – obviously,” she added.

UPDATE: In a separate interview with MTV, Goulding says the new song she wrote is titled “Beating Heart.” In addition, she says her voice has been “kind of woven into the instrumental bits of the soundtrack.”

“I basically got to go into the studio, and just be put in front of the microphone for a few hours and sing whatever I wanted to sing,” she adds. “Not even words, noises and sounds, too. I listened to a lot of Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard.”

Hints of Goulding’s involvement with the film surfaced when the first clip included one of her songs.

The artist is best known for her hit songs “Burn,” “Lights,” and “Anything Could Happen.” As mentioned in the interview, Goulding is embarking on a United States tour during March and April. She’ll also appear at the annual Coachella music festival in Indio, California.

More details about Goulding’s involvement with Divergent are expected later. Stay tuned!

Divergent hits theaters March 21, 2014. The film is directed by Neil Burger (who recently tweeted that the film is “looking great”) and stars Shailene Woodley as Tris and Theo James as Four.

It’s worth noting that she also wrote a song titled “Mirror” for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack last year.
