Elizabeth Olsen and Kelly Marie Tran are tackling the subject of grief in the trailer for Facebook Watch’s new series, Sorry For Your Loss.
Facebook is entering into the streaming game with the launch of its video service, Facebook Watch. And the service is kicking things off with a brand new, 10-episode series called Sorry For Your Loss, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Kelly Marie Tran.
Olsen plays a young woman dealing with the sudden death of her husband, and the long journey that it takes to become “okay” again after losing someone so close to you under such unexpected circumstances. Tran plays Olsen’s sister, a recovering drug addict struggling to not only keep herself healthy but also find the best way to help her sister cope with her grief.
It’s certainly an incredibly heavy topic, but with two incredibly talented actresses at the helm, this series is sure to be one you can’t miss. Facebook Watch released a trailer for the show, which you can check out below.
Grief is often tough to deal with, and it can be even harder to know how to support the people you love who are grieving. Sorry For Your Loss explores this challenging road. The movie doesn’t just follow Olsen’s character, Leigh, as she moves back in with her mother and tries to rebuild her life in the wake of tragedy, but we also see the lives of her loved ones, like Tran’s character Jules, who do their best to support Leigh and help her move on.
But if you’re worried about the show being a complete downer, fret not. Some have gone as far as to call the series a dark comedy, and the show does its best to not only highlight grief but to depict it as a very natural–often necessary–part of every human’s life. It will be a heavy show, but it promises to be a show that will captivate audiences.
You can check out Sorry For Your Loss for yourself when it premieres on Facebook Watch on September 18.
