Showrunner Steven Moffat let some information slip at the Radio Times Cover party last night. He briefly talked about Doctor Who and Sherlock.
According to Musicrooms, he told guests that there will be “at least 14” episodes and that “There will never be a better time to be a Doctor Who fan, I absolutely promise you that.”
On top of this news, The Doctor Who News page is also confirming the following writers as penning episodes: Mark Gatiss and John Fay.
Gatiss has appeared in Doctor Who as both an actor and writer. His acting stints include Lazarus in The Lazarus Experiment, Danny Boy in A Good Man Goes to War and Victory of the Daleks, and Gantok in The Wedding of River Song. His writing credits include Night Terrors, Victory of the Daleks, The Idiot’s Lantern, and The Unquiet Dead .
John Fay penned two episodes in the Torchwood:Children of the Earth series and The Gathering episode in the Torchwood: Miracle Day series.
Are there any other writers who you would want to make a return this season?
