This season of Doctor Who will be big with the first female Doctor taking control of the TARDIS, and the BBC announced its premiere date.
While we’ve seen a few images and trailers, Whovians have been waiting with feverish anticipation for the premiere date of the new season of Doctor Who. Finally, the BBC has come out with the season 11 premiere date for the U.S. and the U.K., and happily, it’s not too far away.

As BBC America announced, we’ll get the opportunity to meet Jodie Whittaker’s 13th Doctor properly when the show premieres on Sunday, October 7. The time of the airing hasn’t yet been released, but it will air simultaneously with the UK premiere. But fret not, if you happen to miss the first airing, BBC America will re-air the episode in a special encore during its regular, prime-time spot.
Whovians have been incredibly excited about this new season of Doctor Who. With a new showrunner at the helm in Chris Chibnall, a history-making new Doctor in Jodie Whittaker, and some brilliant actors to travel with the Doctor through time and space in Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill, and Bradley Walsh, this is going to be a season you simply can’t miss.
The first episode is going to be titled “The Woman Who Fell To Earth.” We don’t have an episode synopsis just yet, but it seems safe to assume that the woman doing the falling is likely the Doctor herself, crashing to earth post-regeneration.
Whether you’re new to Doctor Who, are coming back to Doctor Who after not watching for several seasons, or are a long-dedicated Whovian, this season is shaping up to be amazing. And with UK and US fans getting the chance to watch the 13th Doctor in action for the first time at the same time across the globe, it’s a really cool time to be a Whovian.
