Get ready to spend New Years Day with the Doctor— the first trailer for the annual Doctor Who holiday special is here, and it’s bound to get you excited to tune in!
BBC is gearing up to debut its annual Doctor Who holiday special and it’s clear that this year’s installment is gearing up to be one that’s chockfull of action.
On Sunday (November 29), the network released the official trailer for this year’s holiday special titled “Revolution of the Daleks,” which boats some pretty exciting guest stars.
As we learned just last week, John Barrowman will officially be returning to play fan favorite Captain Jack Harkness. In addition, Chris North is on board to reprise his role as the disgraced Jack Robertson. In addition, actors Dame Harriet Walter and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett are both set to guest star in the special as well, marking the first time either has ever appeared in the hit sci-fi series.
One glimpse of the trailer and it’s clear that the Doctor has got herself into quite a pickle. The last we saw of 13, her fate was left hanging in the balance after she found herself locked away in a high-security alien prison with no hopes of escaping.
With the Doctor locked up, Yaz, Ryan, and Graham are back in Earth trying to get back to their normal lives without her. Normalcy soon becomes a thing of the past when they discover a disturbing plan involving a Dalek is well under way.
With the help of Captain Jack, they’ll have to figure out how to face one of their biggest and most frightening challenges yet— and all without the Doctor’s help.
