The Doctor Who team did an overnight stint filming in the Bristol area until the wee hours of the morning today. The scenes were all for the annual Doctor Who Christmas Special: fake snow, period dress, and some familiar faces were observed. *Spoilers*
Once again the setting seems to be Victorian times as Matt Smith was observed in a top hat and Victorian coat-tails. On top of that, there were a bevvy of extras that looked like they walked out of a Charles Dickens novel. New companion, Jenna-Louise Colman, was seen in a revealing, red Victorian dress. Other familiar faces such as Madame Vastra, Jenny, and Commander Strax were around along with newcomer Richard E. Grant who is set to play the episode’s villain.
Again, regular set visitor, Ryan Farr attended the filming. He tweeted the following information regarding overheard dialogue and observed scenes:
- Unknown actor: “Merry Christmas.” The Doctor: “Take her back where you found her!”
- The Doctor rides away in the horse and cart[driven by Commander Strax]. Clara chases him, but he snubs her and carries on. She falls over in the snow
- Clara (‘s stunt double) chasing The Doctor, who won’t stop. “She’s not my problem.” She falls onto the ground
- The working title seems to be “The Snowmen”
Farr shot the video footage below. Additionally, The Mirror has an excellent gallery of photos from that evening.
