Often, images neither heighten or lower expectations of a movie, but these newly released Dawn of the Planet of the Apes images have raised expectations.
That’s a very difficult thing to, but the new images have done it.

With that one image of Caesar holding that shotgun, our already high expectations for the film just went even higher. The level of destruction and chaos that was shown at the end of Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a tease, and if the apes are going to have guns in Dawn, the level of chaos that will be in the film will be so much more than we imagined.
That level of chaos is not something we’ve seen in the promotion so far, so it’s really exciting. In the first trailer, Caesar was very fierce, but we didn’t get to see the apes doing anything destructive. We still haven’t, but these images tease that destruction in a very enticing way.
The sequel to the 2011 released Rise of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis as Caesar as well as Gary Goldman, Keri Russell, Jason Clarke, Judy Greer, and more. It will hit theaters on July 11.
Official synopsis:
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
