Dan Levy fans will have to head over to Netflix to catch the Emmy Winning Schitt’s Creek vet’s next batch of content.
According to Deadline, Dan Levy has just inked a brand new deal with Netflix.
The move will find Levy writing and producing all new scripted content across both television and film for the online streaming giant.
2019 found the Emmy Award winner inking a three-year deal with ABC to develop and produce original scripted projects.
As a result, he won’t begin developing television titles for Netflix until next year when his deal with ABC Signature expires. Until then, it sounds as though Levy is set to hit the ground running and begin developing original film titles for Netflix immediately.
Up first, is an untitled romantic comedy that will find Dan Levy wearing many hats. Specifically, he’ll star in, write, produce, and direct on the untitled feature, though no further details with regards to the plot have been unveiled at this time.
In a statement announcing his new partnership with Netflix, Levy spoke specifically about the streamer’s ties to the critically acclaimed Schitt’s Creek.
“Netflix offered Schitt’s Creek a second home at just the right time and opened the doors to a whole new audience for us,” said the actor. “Watching the show thrive there has only enhanced my excitement about continuing to tell specific, meaningful stories with them in both tv and feature film. A full circle moment.”
We’re sure Dan Levy fans will be excited to learn more about any Netflix projects he’ll have coming down the pipeline as part of the new deal.
Until then, fans can catch the actor currently lending his voice to the role of Chasten Barkley in Netflix’s adult animated series, Q-Force, which is available to stream right now.
