The jury’s still out over whether or not Daddy’s Home deserved a sequel, but like it or not we’re getting one. Check out the first trailer for Daddy’s Home 2 below!
Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell might have gone head to head as Brad and Dusty in the 2015 comedy, Daddy’s Home, but it’s clear both men have put all of that dad vs. step-dad drama behind them.
In fact, as we see in the first teaser for the sequel, Daddy’s Home 2, Dusty (Wahlberg) and Brad (Ferrell) have figured out a way to play nice and be friends despite coming from two different worlds.
The comedic sequel won’t be without drama, but it’s clear there’ll be bigger fish to fry when Dusty announces plans to invite both sides of their families over to have one big, united holiday season under the same roof.
Spending time with the grandparents might sound innocent enough, but it’s clear from the moment we meet Dusty’s father (played by Mel Gibson), that surviving the holidays won’t be as easy as they originally thought.
John Lithgow has also joined the cast of the upcoming sequel as Brad’s sweet-as-can-be dad. We expect there’ll be tons of hijinks in store as Brad and Dusty try to figure out how to get through the holidays now that their fathers have officially been thrown into the mix.
