Watch Chris Pine preview his role in Wonder Woman, and exude the virtues of DC’s first female-led superhero movie.
Star Trek actor Chris Pine appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday to promote The Finest Hours.
During his visit, Pine also talked a little bit about his role in DC’s Wonder Woman, which he’s been shooting in London.
Pine plays Steve Trevor, a World War I soldier who also serves as Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot)’s love interest — and, allegedly, “better half.”
See what Chris Pine can reveal about the movie below:
“There’s a Mister Wonder Woman, I didn’t know that!” Jimmy Kimmel quips.
Pine wouldn’t reveal whether they were married or not, “but yeah, I’m a stay-at-home dad kinda guy,” he teases.
They also acknowledge the fact that you don’t see a lot of “superhero boyfriends” on the big screen, and Pine says “it’s great!” He’s also very enthused about having absolutely no special powers.
Compared to all the other big superhero films, Pine believes that, “what’s really neat about [Wonder Woman] is that with all of the Thors and the Captain Kirks… I feel like with men at the helm it’s always this kind of revenge cycle thing, an eye for an eye, ‘we’re gonna go get the bad guys’ and the bad guys are defeated.”

Continues Pine, “What I think is really lovely about having a woman at the helm of something like this is, just by virtue of her being a woman, there’s a great deal more compassion and love at the center of the story.”
Chris Pine believes this movie will help “inch this universe towards something not as aggressive.”
‘Wonder Woman’ gently and unaggressively soars into cinemas on June 23, 2017
The movie about the strong, unbeatable Amazonian goddess — you know, the DC universe’s most powerful warrior — is presumably still happening as well.
