The CBS comedy Man With a Plan, which faced backlash last year for unceremoniously recasting the female lead role, replacing Jenna Fischer with Liza Snyder due to “chemistry issues,” has been given an eight-episode back-order for its current second season.
Deadline writes that the decision was made following CBS’ decision to pull future episodes of Me, Myself & I. Man With a Plan will continue to air in its 8:30 pm slot Mondays after Kevin Can Wait.
Also given an eight-episode back-order is fellow sophomore comedy Superior Donuts, which is the network’s only comedy starring a person of color.
Led by Jermaine Fowler and also starring Judd Hirsch, Katey Sagal and David Koechner, Superior Donuts airs right after Man With a Plan, Mondays at 9 pm. Both series’ second seasons will be 21 episodes long.
