While plot details of American Horror Story: 1984 may still be under wraps, a new video introduced to the cast and their great ’80s looks.
There has been a great deal of speculation surrounding what to expect this season on American Horror Story: 1984. After a teaser was released that channeled some serious ’80s slasher vibes, fans wondered if the new season would lean more towards some dystopian future or more towards an ’80s horror vibe. After seeing the video Ryan Murphy posted on his Instagram, it looks like we’re definitely traveling back to the ’80s this season.
Murphy released a video with the entire cast in their amazing ’80s looks, and it has got us so excited. Sure, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters aren’t going to be there this season, but this season has got people like Billie Lourd and Emma Roberts returning, and some new faces to the AHS family like Matthew Morrison and Angelica Ross.
According to Murphy’s video, it marks the first day of shooting, and we’re so excited for what horrors await us in American Horror Story: 1984.
While we don’t know who each actor will be playing (though we can guess some of the ’80s horror archetypes like “the good girl,” “jock,” etc.) we do know who will be rounding out the cast this season. American Horror Story: 1984 will be brought to us by the talents of Angelica Ross, DeRon Horton, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, Matthew Morrison, John Carroll Lynch, Zach Villa, Emma Roberts, and Gus Kenworthy.
American Horror Story as a whole has struggled a bit to find its footing over the past few seasons, but it definitely knows how to do campy horror well. This season has quite a lot going for it, and we are so ready to see the show take on a new flavor of terrifying storytelling.
American Horror Story: 1984 premieres on FX on September 18.
