Blue Ivy Carter is lending her voice to the upcoming Hair Love audiobook, based on the Academy Award winning short film of the same name.
8-year-old Blue Ivy Carter can officially add audio book narrator to her resume.
The eldest daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z has officially recorded an audiobook version of Hair Love by Matthew A. Cherry.
The book, which was written by Cherry and illustrated by Vashti Harrison, is based off of the hit animated short of the same name which scooped up the Academy Award for best animated short film in 2020.
Cherry took to twitter on Monday (November 9) to share the news of the book’s forthcoming audiobook adaptation. In his tweet, the Oscar winner shared a short 10 second clip in which you can hear Carter read out the title of the book.

Blue Ivy’s narration of the Hair Love audiobook is just the latest in a long list of accomplishments for the youngster. Earlier this year, she kicked things off by becoming the youngest winner of a BET Award for her collaboration on “Brown Skin Girl,” a single which also happens to feature her mother, Beyonce, WizKid, and Saint Jhn. She followed the big win up by scoring an NAACP Image Award also for “Brown Skin Girl.”
As for Cherry’s Hair Love the Oscar winner’s touching story about a father who must learn to do his daughter’s hair for the first time will live on outside of the forthcoming audiobook. Coming up next, it’ll be the focus of an all new animated series called Young Love which will focus on the family unit we first met in the animated short.
