K-pop superstars, BLACKPINK will soon be the subject of a brand new documentary film set to hit Netflix next month!
BLACKPINK will soon be able to sink their teeth into a brand new documentary focused on the popular K-pop group, coming soon to Netflix.
Titled BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky, the brand new documentary is set to chronicle the rise of the South Korean girl group quartet, from their trainee days to the present day.

The online streaming giant has tapped Salt Fat Acid Heat helmer, Caroline Suh, to serve as director on the documentary, which will feature exclusive interviews and never before seen footage of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa.
The documentary also promises to offer up a first look at the girls’ recording process for the band’s highly anticipated follow up album, while also depicting the highs and lows that comes with being a K-pop idol group.
In a statement announcing the documentary film, the girl group said: “We can’t wait to share our personal stories with Blinks all over the world through Netflix! We hope this film will bring joy and light to the viewers, and they will enjoy seeing our journey together on screen from the past four years.”
Meanwhile, Netflix chimed in with a statement of its own in which they company said they’re excited to bring BLACKPINK’s story to fans all over the world.
“The K-pop phenomenon has been sweeping the globe and BLACKPINK has arguably become the most recognizable and most popular girl group in the world.” said Netflix’s Adam Del Deo, VP Documentary Features.
“Director Caroline Suh’s trusted relationship with Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa offers organic and honest moments that give viewers an authentic inside look into the lives of BLACKPINK, as well as the dedication and grueling preparation each member puts into every hit song, history-making performance and sold-out arena tour. We’re thrilled to bring their story to their fans worldwide.”
BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky premieres via Netflix on October 14.
